About
Daily Creepypasta is a small, quiet corner of the internet with one rule: a new story every night.
The site is run by RJ. Two kinds of stories appear here:
- Originals. Stories written for Daily Creepypasta and published here first. They’re marked Daily Creepypasta Original.
- Classics. Public-domain horror and ghost stories by writers such as Edgar Allan Poe, M. R. James, Algernon Blackwood and Mary E. Wilkins Freeman. Each one is republished with full credits: where and when it first appeared, and where the text came from. Each also has a short introduction and a Reader’s Companion after the story, with our own commentary on the author, the background and the craft, plus suggestions for what to read next. Classics carry a small Classic badge.
All of them are short enough to finish before bed and, we hope, unsettling enough that you’ll think twice about turning off the hall light.
We like horror that takes its time. The wrong detail in a familiar room. The note in your own handwriting that you don’t remember writing. The sound that stops a moment after you notice it. You won’t find much gore here. We’d rather leave the door open a crack and let you imagine what’s on the other side. Stories that deal with heavier subjects list short content notes under the title.
